The Morning Fog

Appearing out of nowhere, present it seems everywhere

Blanketing the awakening sky

Casting mist upon car tops and windows

Distorting all but the minutest view

Enveloping playgrounds, skyscrapers, and tall thin trees

Falling over the city skyline like a king size comforter draping over the sides of a queen size bed

Grazing the gray ground

Hanging in the sky like an about to give birth pregnant woman’s belly

Keeping the sun’s powerful rays at bay

Seeping away, leaving behind the light of day
